leap dog

anthony's parents just got back from tahiti today, so after church, we stopped by their house to have dinner and also to greet the birthday girl! jazmin was actually born on february 29.. on leap day! special birthday for a special pup! (= she's only two but she looks so old in this picture. haha.

slick rick

today my family and i had lunch at the counter to celebrate ricky's birthday. it's too bad this picture was taken after we already ate, 'cause now you can't see how much food we had. i thought i was playing it safe by ordering a ham & cheese sandwich, but even that was humongous. my favorite thing to order from the counter, though, is their shake of the month. this time it was a birthday cake milkshake! yum!! everyone kept telling me i didn't deserve to order it 'cause it wasn't my birthday, but i let the birthday boy take a sip.. so isn't that good enough!?

silly hats

anthony and i met up with eva, jeric, jenn, and mark at disneyland today. after watching captain EO, we stopped inside a store to look at the shirts and try on the silly hats. while anthony was making fun of the silly hat he was wearing, a lady who was wearing the hat for real came walking him past him. haha, woops!

twins

i had to drop something off at fedex earlier, so since i was only a mile away from my parents' house i stopped by to say hello. when i saw my mom walking down the stairs, i thought it was so funny that she was wearing the same color v-neck sweater as me. haha. well, it was funnier and more obvious before she put her scarf on. it's always funny to be a twin with someone, especially when it's someone you don't know. isn't it so awkward when you notice you're wearing the same shirt as someone walking towards you at the mall? =P

bargain hunting

everytime i go to target, i love to check out the clearance racks in the clothing section. i love finding tank tops for $3 or sweaters for $8! what a steal! the only thing is i really have to dig through all the clothes. most of the stuff is pretty ridiculous, just like this fuschia tutu that i found. but at $4, why not?! haha jk. i would rather spend that $4 on four cute, but probably useless, things in the dollar spot. (=

video chatting

isn't technology grand? anthony just bought a new webcam so now we can see priscilla and serena whenever we want! we did a quick video chat earlier, and so silla was able to be in today's picture with us even though she's thousands of miles away. groovy, baby! i was just noticing that this picture is super random, though. haha. silla's in her pajamas 'cause it is almost time for her to go to bed, i have a towel wrapped around my neck 'cause i just got out of the shower, and grace is in her cheerleading uniform 'cause she had a game earlier. werd.

shabu shabu

anthony and i just had shabu shabu for dinner. yum! we only do this like once every few months, so when we do it's such a treat! and like anthony always says, the thing that makes shabu shabu so good is not the meat, but the sauce. ponzu sauce is where it's at!

breakfast for dinner

anthony and i usually only eat breakfast on the weekends, and today we had it for dinner! i had a really light lunch today (just hot fritos and cinnamon twists.. gross huh?) so when it came to dinner i was pretty hungry. i told anthony i wanted breakfast, so he went right up the street to our favorite breakfast place, dino's burgers, and got lots of deliciousness. breakfast food is always so filling, though, so i didn't come close to finishing my food even though i was so hungry. i guess i can eat my leftovers tomorrow morning!

mochi

grace is here hanging out at my house. about an hour after the two of us got home from our lunch at jollibee, we both started craving something sweet. as i was telling her about the delicious strawberry mochi cakes from jj bakery, both of our mouths started watering.. so we left on a mission to go get some. but after waiting in line at the bakery, we found out that they ran out!!! uggggh!! it was heartbreaking to find that out! haha. so with mochi still on our minds, we ended up just getting mochi ice cream from mitsuwa. not the same, but good enough!

nine pounds

we just got home from having dinner with the homies at claws in garden grove. we started off our order with fried catfish, cajun fries, fried okra, and six pounds of shellfish. but after devouring it all, everyone agreed that they still wanted more. haha. so three more pounds of shrimp came and went (rather quickly i might add) and everyone was finally satisfied. hungry hungry hippos!

banana pancakes

let me guess. you are blown away by how realistic this picture looks, right? hahaha. just trying to keep things interesting. so anyway, today while i was working, i was thinking about how it's supposed to rain tomorrow and then i started to feel really sleepy. it made me think of the song "banana pancakes" by jack johnson. so i went onto lala.com and started listening to all his old songs, which took me on a trip down memory lane. it just reminded me of how much i love his music. i don't listen to music the same way i used to, mostly because i no longer have a 30 mile commute to work. so whenever i hear a song off of an album i used to have on repeat a few years back, it's like i fall in love with the music all over again.

happy moon

while anthony and i were leaving our house for dinner, i noticed that the moon looked so cute. it looked like a smile! and if you've seen my camera lately, you'd know that there are two circle blobs on the LCD screen. so while i was taking this picture, i was like, "hey! a happy face!" (= well obviously the blobs on my camera don't have eyelashes, but i guess i just got carried away while editing this picture in photoshop. haha.

this year for lent, i've decided to give up boba and soda. how about you?

laker game

tonight we went to the staples center to watch the lakers beat the warriors! for Christmas, we gave auntie fely two boxes. the first box contained the shirt she is wearing in this picture. and in the second box, she found the tickets for tonight's game! she has always been a big lakers fan. aside from listening to the loud hecklers sitting in the row behind ours, we had lots of fun. we even got free tacos! yay!

tina

despite being busy with work today, i got to spend a bit of time with "tina" before she flew back home to monterey. after she brought me and anthony some garlic chicken from versailles, we stopped by boba loca to get some milk tea and then dropped her off at the airport. toni and i always seem to have withdrawals when we don't see each other for a while. so even though we didn't have as much QT as i would've liked, i'll take what i can get! (=

minnesotans

poooooor anthony!! he'd been looking forward to seeing the minnesotans ever since we found out they were coming. everyday, he would tell me how many more days were left before they would arrive. but then on saturday (after not being able to see them the day before), he came down with a really nasty stomach virus!! so he spent the entire weekend at home alone! thankfully, he's feeling 100% again and so he was able to spend the morning with the baby before their afternoon flight back home. obviously, we were all sad to say goodbye, but we are already looking forward to next time! anthony is already counting down the days! (=

love bugs

after reading about guppys so many times on this blog, the minnesotans wanted to try it out for themselves.. so that's where we headed this afternoon for a valentine's day lunch. while we were there, priscilla handed out the cutie patootie ladybug magnets that she and rianne made us for valentine's day! so sweet!

karaoke

tonight we went out to celebrate mike's birthday! after picking toni up from LB airport, she, mike, and i met up with carla and geof in downtown LA at a german sausage grill called wurstkuche. the restaurant was pretty cool. mike was the most adventurous, ordering a rabbit, veal and pork sausage! sounds delicious! =P after eating, we went up the street to mountain bar in chinatown where carla and mike tore up the mic in the hip hop karaoke room! bone thugs ain't got nothin' on them! haha.

little girls

i'm cheating with this picture because it wasn't really taken today. but allllll day long, anthony and i were just waiting and waiting for a chance to see the little girls. haha. they were visiting their other side of the family, so we completely understood why we never got the chance to see them. but with cuties like these, how could we not help but feel anxious?

while we were waiting, anthony and i went to pinkberry to take advantage of their BOGO special that's going on right now. but since i don't think anyone cares to see a picture of me eating yogurt, i'm using a picture which was taken the following day.

blender girls

yay! the minnesotans arrived in LA this evening! after hanging out at the house for a bit, priscilla and i left for a while and then headed over to blenders to satisfy silla's boba craving and to meet up with venus and grace. the four of us sat around and talked (mostly about monsters) until the place closed. too bad it's still so cold out. otherwise, we could've had our reunion the old way: inside venus' pool!

my candy

after months and months of clashing schedules, mike and i were finally able to meet up for dinner tonight. we went to veggie grill where we enjoyed another free meal thanks to rianne's gift cards!

a long time ago, mike told me that his middle name was andy. years later, i found out that his real middle name is shaun. when i questioned him about it, he said that the andy was supposed to be an obvious joke. mike andy = my candy. haha. woops!

mary poppins

anthony and i made a quick trip to disneyland today! for the first time in years, we were there while the sun was still out! i had to pick something up in cerritos for work, so i figured it was a good excuse to make a quick visit. (= we were only there for an hour and a half, but during that time we ate a corndog and two skewers of bacon wrapped asparagus, rode winnie the pooh, and saw mary poppins. i felt so tomboyish next to her. haha! darn that womanly woman!

pizookie

anthony and i decided to go out for an early valentine's dinner tonight 'cause we would rather spend the actual day with our God daughters instead of each other. haha jk. we ended up at bj's where we had buffalo wings, pizza, and an oreo pizookie! we purposely ordered a big pizza because we wanted leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. but while we were walking around target after dinner, anthony realized that neither of us grabbed the pizza box before leaving the restaurant! doh!

pajamas

one of the coolest perks of working at home is that i get to spend the majority of my day in pajamas. but sometimes i feel embarassed while i'm talking to my boss or a client on the phone 'cause during the serious conversation i'll realize that i'm wearing a silly t-shirt. haha. my pajamas are so ridiculous.. like this oversized csulb hoodie and baggy violin t-shirt from salzburg, austria. haha.

athletic husband

this morning, rianne and ricky accompanied me down in huntington beach for anthony's first half marathon! the runners totally lucked out because the temperature was pleasant even though all the weather websites forecasted rain! how nice of God to treat them so kindly. (= anthony crossed the finish line after 2 hours and 4 minutes! good job, hubby! i'm so proud! i don't think i could ever do the 13 miles, but maybe next year i'll try the 5k. anyone want to join me?

huntington beach

anthony and i went out to huntington beach today 'cause he had to pick up his packet for tomorrow's event. on the way there, i noticed a HUGE rainbow in the sky. i don't know i flipped out so much, but it just made me really excited and happy. i wanted today's picture to include the rainbow, but it was too hard to capture it after we parked our car because a bunch of buildings were in the way. but oh well, the view of the beach ain't so bad either. (=

filipino food

the mejia family met up in glendale tonight to celebrate the life of anthony's grandma, who passed away last month. after celebrating mass, half of us went to max's of manila for some yummy filipino food! i think i was the only one who was really excited to go there, but after venus tried the fried chicken she agreed that it was delicious! haha. i think everyone else enjoyed their food, too. (i hope!) i always talk about food. food food food. but you know what? i don't smoke, drink alcohol, or have any expensive hobbies. i like to eat. it's what i enjoy! so i don't mind spending money on eating at restaurants, because it's pretty much the only hobby i have!

peach pleasure

i have been taking some really crappy pictures lately. that's due to a combination of being really busy with work and being really unmotivated to update this blog. i've just been using my phone's camera to take the pics 'cause i figure it's better than nothing. anyway, i was stuck at home working all day. when anthony came home from running errands, he brought me a peach pleasure from jamba juice. what a delight!

QT with the kitty

whenever i think about meli, i feel guilty that i am not with her. everyone always asks me why anthony and i don't have a cat. i always think, "i DO have a cat." i still think she is mine even though she doesn't live with me. i think it would be really mean to make her move here because she is so used to living at the other house. and i think it would be so mean if i got another cat for this house, because then i would be neglecting meli even more than i already do. maybe i'm just being weird, though. but really, she is such a great companion. when i was still living in carson, she was always with me. she would follow me all around the house and even sleep under the blanket with me in my bed. haha. so you see.. she is not replaceable. the only solution is for me to go visit her, just like i did today.

nieces

so silla finally texted me back with a picture today! it's so much cuter than the ones i sent her! haha. my nieces are the cutest things ever! can't wait to see them next week!!

chinese chicken salad

yes, these pictures are weirder than weird, but while anthony and i were having dinner at rascals earlier, we thought that if we sent random pictures to priscilla, she would send some back. she just kept commenting on the pictures, though, and never sent any back. doh! but anyway, the reason we went there is 'cause gennie mentioned how it's weird that she craves a certain salad even though she does not normally like salad. i am the same way. and after hearing that, i started craving chinese chicken salad. i have to admit, though, that i mostly just like the chicken and the dressing. i could do without the lettuce. haha. is a salad even considered a salad without the lettuce, though? =P
