our baby shower

today was a lovely day! we had our baby shower at our house, and we had so much fun. it was a "little man" themed shower, so there were mustaches and bowties all over the place. so cute! our families did such a great job with all the details. we know they spent so much time and money planning and organizing it all. and it was so nice to have all our closest family and friends over to help us celebrate. we also received a ridiculous amount of gifts. reese's room is full! i am just so overwhelmed with how much we were spoiled and blessed. thanks for all the love!!!

fun with miss pris

we had a sleepover with miss pris tonight! just like old times, we picked up our dinner from blenders first. silla is such a good helper. she helped us clean and decorate for tomorrow's baby shower. she even baked two boxes of cupcakes! i can't wait to see how everything turns out. i'm excited!

mr. sleepy

my mom came over and helped me clean my house while we were waiting for the babies to get home from their day out. when i went to drop her off, serena and russell were both already asleep, but i asked if i could just look at them. obviously, i did more than look. how could anyone resist!?

the babies

they're here!!!! while we were awaiting their arrival, anthony and i kept laughing and saying, "russell is on an airplane right now." haha. it's so funny when you imagine someone sitting up in the sky. anyway, they arrived just before midnight and we were sooooo happy to see them.

(wannabe) eames rocker

my rocker finally arrived today. i ordered it over a month ago, so i've been anxiously awaiting its arrival. it was worth the wait! the real eames rockers are around $500, so i was perfectly happy with this $89 knock-off from amazon. haha.

carla and i met up for dinner at bruxie in old towne orange. i enjoyed my dinner and carla's company. both thumbs up!

funny grandma

we went to hang out at carson today and grandma tried to give me some of her candy.

making it fit

we went to LA this morning to get fitted for our bridesmaids dresses for eva's wedding. after sucking in our bellies during the fitting, we went up the street to chinatown to fill them with dim sum. yum!

hunger

anthony and i watched the hunger games tonight. even though the book was a lot better, we both still liked the movie. i was hungry when we got to the theater, but i didn't want to spend $6 on a small popcorn, so we went to get some fries and neopolitain shakes afterwards. yum!

growing

arms, face, stomach.. they're all getting bigger. oh yeah and the baby, too!

trade joe's goodies

we went to trader joe's specifically for peanut butter cups. instead, we came home with a whole cart full of goodies! everything always looks so good!

yami teahouse

denise and i planned to meet up for boba after work today, and then gennie ended up coming along, too. twice the pleasure, twice the fun! haha. right after i saw this picture, i thought, "eww gross! i look pregnant!" and then i remembered that i am. =P

new chandelier

i've been bugging anthony to switch out the chandelier in our living room. i bought this one way back in october. he's looked into it, but never felt confident enough to do it himself. but as soon as he walked in the door today, he pointed at the light and next thing you know, we spent the next couple hours figuring it out! haha. okay, by WE i really mean HE. he had to shut off the electricity, climb into the attic, rewire everything, and then hook up the new one. i pretty much just held stuff up for him and pointed the flashlight towards wherever he was working. i'm very happy with the result! the room is much brighter, and i like the cool shadow display on the ceiling. it's way better than the scary, giant candle shadows that used to fall on the walls. haha. you can see the original chandelier in yesterday's picture. this new one is much cuter, right?!

starting over

i lost my beloved iphone today. but rather than complaining about it, i'll just say that things could be a lot worse. fortunately, i was able to use my dad's upgrade to get my new phone instead of paying full price. i'm bummed but it's not the end of the world. i upgraded to a 4s instead of an iphone 4, too.. so that's cool. here's to starting over!

girly day

the girls are so sweet! they all treated me to a lovely brunch at orange hill today to celebrate my entrance into motherhood. i had fun pigging out, laughing, and even shopping afterwards. thanks for the girly time, girls!!

lazy thursday

i am not photogenic. hahaha. anthony always laughs after taking my picture because he says what he sees in person is not the same as what shows up on camera. we were cracking up earlier after taking these "lazy couch" pictures because i look 50 pounds heavier than i actually am. yes, i have been retaining a lot of water this week, but this picture is just ridiculous!! yikes!

anyway, the point of today's picture was just supposed to be us lounging on the couch. i like nights like this.

nursery

reese's turn! since i'm all about cutesy this and girly that and hello kitty everything, i was thrown off when i realized i was having a boy. before we even knew he was a boy for sure, i always told anthony that our son was going to hate me because there would be hello kitty all over the house. when we first moved in i was going to set this room up as a craft room so i could finally display all my girly stuff, but we never got around to it. then when it came time to set up the nursery, i searched for ideas on pinterest and got excited when i thought of the woodsy/outdoorsy theme. this way, it can still be cute without being overly girly. win win! okay, maybe more win for me, but it'll work until he's old enough to care. haha. anthony also approved of these decals. he said the first one i showed him was too girly because it had leaves on the trees. see, i'm compromising!

anyway, i have been in nursery overdrive the past few days. monday we assembled the crib. last night after we got home from rianne's, i hung the curtains. it wasn't such a simple task because the curtains rods we bought were the wrong size, but after anthony gave up and went to sleep, i made it work! and then tonight i put up the decals all by myself. i'm a pro now! it was surprisingly easier than rianne's, because the textured walls are more forgiving. i have artwork to hang and a couple more things that i'm either waiting for in the mail, or that i still need to find on craigslist. but yeah, i can't wait 'til it's all finished. i don't know why this is so exciting to me. =P

wall decals

rianne and i both ordered the same set of decals (just different colors) from etsy. we decided to tackle hers first because her walls are nice and smooth, unlike my textured plaster walls. being the crazy control freaks that we are, it took us a while to perfect our technique. but after the first tree, it turned out to be pretty easy. it was getting late so this is how it looked when i left her. an hour later, she texted me a picture of the finished product! haha. i like it!

crib

we finally assembled the crib! i was so picky when i was shopping around for it. i ended up picking out the modena crib by baby mod. it was a tad pricier than the other cribs, but i really liked it 'cause it was different. i even had a scare when it went out of stock while i was still debating whether or not i should order it. once it was back in stock, i finally just went for it. i'm glad i did. i love it!

draw something

i can't stop playing "draw something" on my phone! i got chad and grace to play with me, too! chad sent me this drawing earlier. haha. he's good!!!

countryman

we've been shopping around for a bigger car since both of ours are coupes. we were originally planning to trade anthony's in, but since i jokingly made a comment about trading my cooper in for a countryman, anthony's imagination ran wild. haha. i humored him by agreeing to go check them out at the mini dealership today. i really didn't think he was too serious about it. but THEN, after seeing how big the cargo is, and also finding out that you can get them with 5 seats instead of 4.. we both got pretty excited. we even took one out for a test drive. haha. he is totally sold, but i still need some convincing. of course i love it, but i'm just wondering how practical it actually is. they're surprisingly cheaper than i imagined, too. but yeah. what do you think? this or a minivan? haha sike. reese can't cramp our style!

MILK

after a boring top ramen dinner at home, anthony and i went all the way to MILK in LA because i wanted an ice cream sandwich. haha. sooo good!!!

dancing baby

i was really craving jamba juice earlier so i snuck away from work to get myself a smoothie. i always say i know what kind of food reese likes because he dances in my tummy when i eat certain things. he was dancing like crazy while i drank my peach pleasure! haha.

hunger games

when i remembered i still needed to take a picture for today, i realized i had been glued to this spot on the couch a lot lately! i read the first hunger games book a couple weekends ago and have been so anxious to read the next two. anthony started reading #1 on the kindle after i was done, and i didn't want to interfere with his reading time. but since he hadn't picked it up in a couple days i swooped in and read #2 and #3 in two and a half days! haha. the story was so good and it was such an easy read. i couldn't put it down. i'm excited for the movie!

blenders

i met up with denise for dinner/boba at blenders after work today. i hate my face in this pic but i love ninise! i had fun catching up with her. i'm excited for her new journey ahead!

joann's

i had to go to joann's tonight to buy cardstock for some frames i'm putting together for the baby's room. i was just planning on buying 5 sheets of scrapbook paper, but the artist in anthony came out and convinced me to buy a whole stack! he thought the designs were so cool. he was having as much fun there as i was! in fact, HE is the one who wandered into the holiday section. haha. or maybe he was just being nice because i humor him when he wants to go to sports authority. boring!

birthday feast

we had dinner at guppy's tonight to celebrate rianne's birthday one more time. between us and the boys, we had sooo much to eat! we. finished. everything!

serena time

we finally got to facetime with the babies today! serena is so funny. she doesn't like sharing the screen with anyone else, so this is the best shot i could get of her and russell before she ran upstairs to show us her room. everyone else gets about 3 seconds of facetime before she runs away. she never wants to hang up either. anthony finished cooking our lunch, and instead of hanging up, she wanted us to set the phone on the table so she could watch us eat. haha. crazy girl!

rianne's birthday

rianne turned 28 today! we celebrated her big day (along with my parents' anniversary) with a seafood dinner at mc cormick & schmick's (rianne's request) and then dessert at pinkberry (my mom's request). haha. happy birthday, baby sis!

28 weeks
