swap meet

while i was cooking my dinner earlier i decided i wanted to add some potatoes so i could have enough leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. i didn't feel like going to the store just to buy one potato, though, so i asked rianne if she had one. she didn't, but mentioned she needed a couple potatoes, too! haha. it's a long, uninteresting story, but in the end i ended up dropping off two potatoes along with some baby carrots that i already had in my fridge, and in exchange she gave me some "healthy ice cream" treats that i've been wanting to try. haha. strangest swap meet ever!

shabu shabu for dinner tonight! we hadn't done this in a while. it was delicious.

pillow talk

i never liked using pillows until recently. i prefer to curl up in a ball with my entire body under the covers (including my head), but now that i have 18 extra pounds stashed around my body it's not so easy to get comfortable anymore. now pillows are my best friends! while we were at target earlier, anthony and i each picked out a new pillow to add to our collection.

the REAL surprise party

last weekend we went to drago to surprise uncle manny for his 50th birthday. but that was actually a fake surprise party, just so he wouldn't wonder why the family didn't get together. today we had his REAAAL surprise extravaganza, and boy oh boy was he surprised!! it was in santa monica at casa del mar inside a fancy, shmancy ballroom full of ~150 guests. haha. wow.

capriotti's

anthony and i finally made it to capriotti's, the new vegas-based sandwich shop that just opened up in torrance. anthony always overestimates how hungry he is, and ends up ordering a ridiculous amount of food. this time, he ordered a 20 inch philly cheesesteak! i wish i took a picture before he unwrapped it, because it was huge!! haha. he still has half of it left for tomorrow's lunch.

gross, but this is the only picture i took today. when i look through my weekly belly shots, i notice that my face is expanding just as fast as my belly. not too thrilled about that! haha.

we had one more dinner outing in honor of jenn's birthday. this time we went to good ol' olive garden! yum yum yum! we were all afraid of our waiter for some reason, so we didn't get as many refills as we would've liked, but it was still a lovely night.

i owed jenn a birthday dinner since i missed her big party last weekend. she picked bj's so that's where we went. it was awfully crowded for a tuesday, but luckily we found a booth in the bar section right away. as always, we yapped our mouths off. the only reason we ever decide to go home is because one of us will notice the time and be like, "whoa!! it's late!" otherwise we could talk forever! haha.

serena facetimed me today. she gave me a tour of her back yard and family room, and then asked me to give her a tour of my "upstairs." i told her i don't have an upstairs, but showed her the rest of the house. when i showed her the bathroom, she said, "ew!" haha.

we had dinner at drago in santa monica to celebrate uncle manny's 50th birthday. good times with the mejia gang.

rianne is leaving for minnesota tomorrow so i met up with her tonight to eat dinner and to give her jennifer's birthday treats, which she will hand-deliver tomorrow. rianne went for a run beforehand 'cause she is training for a 10k, so that's why her face is a bit pink.

gennie and i had lovely dinner at blenders tonight. as usual, we stayed until it closed. she wanted to do a funny face for the picture. we both have some wonky eyes goin on! haha.

christine's bday lunch

yesterday was christine's birthday so we wanted to take her out to lunch to celebrate. she picked stacked at cerritos mall! we all had fun and enjoyed our food. it was so bright outside when we took this pic, hence the uncomfortable eyes. =)

rianne and i were both bored this afternoon so she picked me up so we could go "pasyar." neither of us know how to spell that, but that's what my mom used to say when we were kids and we were going to spend the day going around town. haha. anyway, we had lunch at the new drive-thru chick fil a, window shopped at several stores, and then went to mitsuwa in search of something sweet to eat. we ended up in the candy aisle and everythingggggg looked good!!

dinner date and working late

darn you, friday the 13th!! i had to stay at work late today to finish up a project. i was MAAAAAAAD. i don't know if it was the hormones, but i even cried because i was so frustrated. haha!! sounds silly now. but anthony ended up bringing me dinner (which the company later offered to reimburse) and listened to me vent about the project once i finally got it done. thanks, hubby!

hahah!!! today i wanted a chocolate blast from baskin robbins. don't worry. i only drank half and am saving the other half for tomorrow. and yes, i exercise and eat my fruits and veggies, too.

i went to target to buy toilet paper and juice, but somehow wandered into the baby section. i ended up buying the baby his first piece of clothing. i couldn't resist!

everyone always asks me if i crave anything weird now that i'm pregnant. i haven't craved anything unusual, but i do get strong desires to eat very specific desserts! today i wanted a pizookie so we made our own at home. at least it was cheaper and healthier than eating a full-sized one at bj's!

p.s. yes, my Christmas decorations are still up. i'm too sad to put them away!

downtown la

i hung out with the mejia gang today. we had dim sum for lunch at chinatown, and then went to the garment district to look at fancy dresses. grace and i tried some on just for fun. we walked around a lot, so i was pretty tired at the end of the day, but at least it was good exercise!

stacked

anthony wasn't feeling too well today. when i got home from work, he was laid out on the couch all miserable-looking. i told him i wanted a hot dog for dinner and he wasn't too enthused. but when i said, "stacked," THEN he got excited. haha. we asked venus and vince to join us, and miserable boy ended up having a pleasant friday night afterall!

baby boy

we had my 20 week ultrasound today and found out that we are having a BOY! everyone knows we were hoping for a girl, but i just KNEW he was a boy all along. haha. i could just feel it! we have been calling him a "him" for a while now, too. and right before the appointment, anthony actually changed his mind and said he wants a boy first. so yes, we are happy. i am just so relieved to finally know for sure. now we can start all the fun stuff! we've already started talking about names, and i'm looking up ideas for how we're going to decorate his room.

p.s. we totally think it's funny that our baby looks like michael jackson! hahahah. do you see it? he was actually yawning. the ultrasound tech played his yawn over and over for us in slow motion. she paused it towards the end of the yawn to take this picture. so funny. oh boy!!!

i went to work today not knowing it was a company holiday. haha woopsies. oh well. i stayed to work anyway with the intention of taking tomorrow off instead. after work, i met up with gennie and jenn for some dinner at corner bakery and then boba at guppy's!

since toni is in town, she and i met up for dinner tonight! we ended up eating at el pollo inka 'cause she was craving peruvian. we were both pretty tired, which i'm sure you can see from the picture. i'm still glad i was able to spend some time with her, though.
