harajuku crepes

after many months, we FINALLY made it out to beverly hills tonight to try harajuku crepes. i've been wanting to go there since our anniversary! it was really good and totally worth the drive. yummay!

reese's cousins

i was browsing some old pictures from last summer and remembered how anthony and i always asked if we could keep serena for ourselves. before i was pregnant, i remember telling jenn that i couldn't imagine what it would feel like to have my own baby because i already love jennifer's babies so much. i felt like my heart was already full to capacity. well it turns out that instead of having to divide my heart into more pieces, it just automatically multiplied in size! so even though i have my own son, i still love his cousins as if they were my own.

bath time

my mom gave reese a bath today, which is good because i am scared of giving him a bath! he's so strong so he's always kicking and trying to hold his head up. it's scary enough when he's clothed, so imagine how much scarier it is when he's slippery! oh well. he's lucky his grandma doesn't mind.

walking partner

although the rest of the family went home last week, silla is still here for the next few weeks. she gets dropped off at my house in the morning and i totally love having her. she is great company and a great helper, too. this afternoon we went walking at wilson park and then treated ourselves to some "healthy" smoothies afterwards. lunch with anthony

i was bored at home earlier so reese and i drove out to santa monica to have lunch with anthony.

sleepy sunday

even though i had a break from watching this little boy yesterday, i was absolutely pooped this morning. i had a really bad headache all night, but thankfully anthony skipped biking with his buddies so he could watch the baby while i caught up on sleep. i got out of bed at noon! it was nice to recharge!

we spent our day at eva and jeric's wedding! we had a lot of fun. their ceremony and reception were beautiful. it was such a lovely day. congratulations, you two! i'm so happy for you!

daddy's birthday

today was my dad's birthday, so we celebrated with a taco bell feast and an ice cream cake. this was the first complete family picture we've had in a while (well, aside from grandma who was in her room).

sleepover

silla slept over tonight so we tried on these new eye masks that anthony's mom gave us. we didn't realize 'til after they were on that we wouldn't be able to look at the camera. silla tried to be sneaky by sneaking me a kiss, but she couldn't see how far away she was from my face. silly silla.

company

anthony went back to work today, but luckily i was not left at home alone! the minnesotans came over to keep me company! it was really nice to have all those extra hands to help out (and to pull my hair). thanks, loves!

father's day

we celebrated father's day in carson with four extra large pizzas from z pizza! happy father's day, daddy, ryan, and anthony!

graduation luncheon

we went to boiling crab today to for chad and nicole's graduation luncheon! i can't believe those two kiddos are already going to college next year! before i know it, reese will be going to college, too!

bbq

anthony's been wanting to use the grill, so today we were finally able to have ourselves a bbq! you can't even see our food in the picture, but it was tasty! thanks, fresh n easy!

date night

reese has been having trouble eating lately. he screams and cries and sometimes refuses to eat at all. it's very frustrating for both of us, so i had another meltdown towards the end of the night. i cried to my mom on the phone, so she and my dad came over to give us a break, and anthony and i seriously just got up and left. i was wearing my pajamas and everything! haha. it was our first "date" since reese was born. we walked around fresh n easy, ate dinner at chick fil a, and then ate our dessert in the car because we were cold. how romantic. cousins

the minnesotans arrived today, which means reese finally got to meet his cousins! yay!! we were laughing at how weird he and russell look next to each other. haha. they're only six months apart, but still have a ways to go before they start looking like BFFs.

hanging out

jenn and i went to back home in lahaina for an early dinner while the boys stayed home. even though our girl date was not as long as usual, it was nice to get out of the house!

downtown brea

this is anthony's last week of paternity leave. how saddd!!! to make the most of our time together, the three of us headed out to downtown brea to have lunch at bruxie! the weather was perfect and the food was delicious. what a fabulous afternoon!

even though reese is fussier now, he's still such a sweetie pie. how could i be mad at a smiley face like this?!

two laps

today we did two laps instead of one!

moby wrap

reese's personality is really starting to change. he used to be really calm, but lately he's been fussy and harder to put to sleep after he eats. he always fights to stay awake even though he's clearly tired. today, i plopped him into the moby wrap and he stopped crying and fell asleep right away. amazing!

typo

we were planning to take our regular stroll around the park today, but since it was too hot out we went to walk at the mall instead. after eating lunch at chick fil a, we passed by typo. i always want to go into that store, but never actually do because it's always empty and i don't want to be the only customer while the person behind the register just watches me shop. so todayyyy, anthony was like, "hey there's people in there! you can finally go in!" haha. grace once told me that the store was made for me, and after looking around i totally know what she meant! i. wanted. everything! haha.

first time out

i went out by myself for the first time today. it felt WEIRD! my plan was just to go to target and jamba juice, but while i was at target venus told me to join her, grace, and the launius gang at treat. it was nice to see them, even if it was only for a few minutes!

costa mesa

we drove out to costa mesa today to stop by my work. my coworkers were all happy to meet the baby! afterwards, we had lunch at daikokuya. anthony and i used to think our ramen days would be over after the baby was born, but the costa mesa location is still baby-friendly. yay!

p.s. i don't know why reese looks like he's crying in this picture. he was asleep the whole time.

extra hands

my parents and rianne came over today, and it was nice to have all those extra hands! anthony wanted adobo for dinner so we had time to cook, eat, and clean without having to worry about reesey! sometimes i wish i had extra hands permanently attached to my body!

rolling with the punches

we had another crazy day. so crazy that i may or may not have had another cryfest at the end of the night. haha. i felt much better after letting my frustrations out. crying is my release! things are still hectic around here, but i think my main problem is that i keep trying to figure out the secret formula to making this parenthood job easy. i need to realize that it's not supposed to be easy, and also just learn how to roll with the punches. oh well. after our nightly prayer, i was back to normal again. reeeelax.

funny daddy

reese is going through a growth spurt right now, which means he wants to eat around the clock! he usually eats every three hours, but now he wants to eat every two hours. my milk supply can't keep up, which means we have a very hungry baby. and since he usually only fusses when he's hungry, we have a very fussy baby! haha. luckily, his crazy dad knows how to keep him calm while we wait for my milk to come in. (sorry, is all this BF'ing talk a little too personal?) anyway, any other baby would probably scream in horror at anthony's parenting techniques, but reese loves it. afterall, that's the way anthony has been treating him ever since he was in my belly. for example, anthony made a voice recording of himself growling. so right before this picture was taken, anthony played the recording for reese and he fell asleep! haha. crazy boys!

z pizza

we went to z pizza for lunch today to use up some of my coupons before they expire at the end of the month. i bought the coupons from a solicitor at my office back in october. i got swindled into buying two coupon booklets, but have definitely gotten my money's worth already. today, for example, we got 2 lemonades and 2 small pizzas for $4.15! haha. reese apparently was not very impressed. he slept the whole time, but we definitely weren't complaining about that!

flautas and donuts

the homies came over tonight to meet reese! they brought us flautas for dinner and donuts for dessert. the baby was asleep for most of their visit, but woke up right on cue when it was time to eat. maybe he was jealous of our yummy dinner! thanks for coming, guys!
