Reese often helps me with the laundry. Today when I asked him to empty the dryer I was surprised to turn around and see this.

funny-looking kids

do you ever look at your kids and think, "you're funny-looking?" just me? every now and then, i still find myself tripped out by the fact that these boys are mine. i'll catch myself in the mirror while i'm scolding one, or repeating myself for the 100th time, and i see myself in a different light. like, i don't look like me, i look like a mom. and then i'm like, "wait what? anthony and i made kids? and they look like us? and they live here? what the.."

Pool toys

there was some petty drama at the pool last week, which involved some lady getting really weird over some pool toys. everyone who goes to the pool has this unspoken rule that you can play with any toys floating around even if you didn't bring them yourself. sometimes our boys play with other toys, and sometimes other kids play with our toys. who cares. but last week, some lady was all having anxiety because weston touched one of their toys. she ended up having her kid and husband come clean up all their toys in our area. and then she started grabbing our boats. at first i thought she was just being passive aggressive like, "your kid played with my toy so i'm gonna let my kids play with yours!" i just kept smiling at her and telling wes it's nice to share. but then she took it a step further and removed our boat from the water and added it to her pile. i was just like whatha. i wasn't going to say anything and i wasn't about to get into an argument over a $4 boat. it was so dumb, and petty, and the fact that i typed up this post proves that i'm petty, too. but the story ends with her leaving our boat behind after her husband looked at her nervously with a, "that's not ours" look in his eyes. and this week's story begins with our now-initialed toys to avoid any new, stupid pool toy drama.

Silly boy

Exercise

I usually lay with Reese every night until he falls asleep, per his request. Then once he's asleep (as long as I didn't fall asleep too) that's when I get up to work out. Today, right after praying, he asked, "Do you need to exercise?" And I said, "yes." So he goes, "Ok you can go exercise now." I was so excited and sad at the same time. Excited that he is comfortable enough to lay alone, and sad that he didn't need me. Haha. Ridic. But I got up nonetheless!

Weston is the tickle monster. Out of nowhere he will come up to you with his spirit fingers saying, "tickle tickle tickle!"

Playing nicely

Here they are playing nicely with their cars. Two minutes after I took this, they were beating each other up. Why do things have to escalate so quickly?

Hi boys

Rough day

We had a rough day, which included me getting slapped in the face by a certain 4 year old, which resulted in me crying for two hours afterwards, hence the puffy eyes. Raising boys is hard. But we talked about it. We're better now.

Drama baby

His tantrums are ridic. Reese was holding something that he was going to bring to school, and Weston wanted to touch it. Reese said, "no." Weston lost his $#!+. The end.

Train

When I dropped Wes off in Carson this morning he went straight for the train set. Auntie Fely said its his favorite, esp when Reese isn't there to boss him around.
