daddy's home

reese loves his dad. when anthony's not home, reese constantly screams out, "dad! dad! dad!" today he and i were watching videos on the computer when anthony walked in. reese was too concentrated on the video that he didn't notice. i decided to take a picture, and when reese saw anthony standing behind us on the screen he just started smiling. then he was like, "wait a minute!" haha. he turned around laughing when he realized it was real life. okay somehow this was a more exciting story in my head. after typing it out, i'm like, "nobody cares!"

pillow thief

excuse the terrible picture but i just think it's funny because this little boy stole my pillow! he's had a bit of a sleep regression lately. he used to sleep in his room all night, occasionally waking up for a hug or something, but the past couple weeks he's been waking up everynight crying inconsolably. he was sick for a while, so i felt bad and would end up bringing him to my room. and then i got sick, too, and was too tired to stand there and try to comfort him. it was just easier to pick him up. but then i started to realize it's become a habit and i was afraid i would just make the situation worse by giving in all the time. i started thinking he was going to sleep in my room 'til he was a teenager! but then at his well-baby check up the other day, his doctor gave me an encouraging, "he'll go back to normal," and it really helped me. it gave me the patience to help him calm down without picking him up. and so i came up with the idea of giving him my pillow so he could still smell me and feel like he's in our bed. haha. it works! good for him! thief!

whenever reese gets fussy, we can usually calm him down by showing him bruno mars videos on youtube. haha!

mimi's cafe

we had dinner with auntie gennie at mimi's cafe. i love our date nights and i love how she's so patient with reese even when he starts throwing his food on the floor. haha.

i left him in his playpen while i got ready for work and found him in this stylish one-shoulder piece.

the minnesotans went home yesterday. :( i wish i took more pictures of the kids together but i guess we were too busy having fun. now reese is back to entertaining himself, by eating his sock in this case. come back soon, cousins!
