on our way home from san pedro earlier, we stopped by mc donald's where anthony got a hot fudge sundae and i got a mocha frappe. it was good, but i have a feeling that i'm going to have a very hard time falling asleep tonight. haha.

asymmetry

today at work, i started training on something called stereo. you see things in 3D and you can move up and down on the images. that part doesn't really matter. but it was hard for me at first because i have weird eyes. you know how i can make both eyes look in opposite directions? well, seeing in stereo felt a lot like how i feel when i split my eyes. so i kept trying to adjust them. and i was getting really dizzy. i told my boss about it, and he asked if i had a lazy eye. so to test it out, he held a pencil right up next to my face and then told me to focus in on it. then he quickly pulled the pencil away from my face and closer to his chest. i was all concentrating hard. and he was all seriously staring into my eyes because he was trying to see something. i didn't think there was anything weird about it. but then my old boss walked in and looked at us like, "WTH are you doing?!" haha. he noticed that my right eye is slower than my left eye. isn't that wonderful? i always thought i had a special ability 'cause i could make my eyes look in opposite directions. but i guess it turns out to be a handicap. boooo. i told him that if i open my eyes the way they want to open, one would look at him and the other would look to the side. and he said, "don't do that." haha!

i was reading my old archives the other day when i came across the above entry, which i wrote back in '05. sooo, while bored earlier, i decided to take a video of myself doing eye exercises 'cause i wanted to see if one eye was in fact noticeably slower than the other. i wasn't able to notice any difference in eye speed, but i DID notice that my face looks super asymmetrical! haha!! back in '07, i had a specialized massage the day before i was married where the therapist examined the symmetry in my entire body shape and pointed out that my left side was much more dominant. it makes sense because i only chew on my left (meaning the jaw is a lot bigger) and i always stand leaning on my left hip (causing it to stick out a lot more). she explained that this imbalance is probably a big reason why i always get the sharp headaches on only the left side of my face. i am trying to be more conscious about this 'cause i don't want it to cause problems later down the road. but yeah, even though i prefer symmetry in other aspects of my life, i am okay with having an asymmetrical face. i happen to think imperfections are what make people special! and besides, if the two sides of my face were identical, i would probably end up looking like this! haha.

new clothes

rianne and i went to del amo mall after work today because i felt like shopping. i already have a lot of clothes and yet i always seem to have a hard time picking out stuff to wear. i end up wearing the same things over and over. i guess i just feel like a lot of my things are so out of style. so anyway, today i bought a sweater, a shirt, and a dress. yay for new clothes!!

zuppa toscana

anthony recently redeemed the points he earned on his credit card, and so he got us a gift card to olive garden. yessssss! when we went there for dinner tonight, i asked the waitress if she could bring me two bowls of "zuppa toscana" right from the start because i wanted a LOT of soup. anthony said i was mean for requesting that, but she still ended up bringing us four bowls! haha. i love this stuff! it's soooo delicious!

comedy sportz

i had a fun night in hollywood with the gang tonight. we started it off with dinner at california wings cafe where we ordered 100 wings to split between eight people. we must've been really hungry because we ate all but four of them. wow! the wings were really good. after filling our bellies, we went up the street to the "comedy sportz" theater to watch a comedy show. it was quite different from most of the comedy clubs i've been to. instead of having just one comedian on stage at a time, two teams with three players each were on stage competing against each other to make the audience laugh. it's all improvisation, so some of the stuff was kinda corny, but overall it was fun to watch. good times, despite the fact that it looks like eva and gail were falling asleep. astro blasters

anthony and i went to disneyland today to upgrade our annual passes. it was SO freaking expensive!! the price of the passes went up $25 since we bought them in october, so not only did we have to pay the upgrade fee, but we also had to pay the jump in the price. sheesh! but whatever. i guess you gotta pay to play (dumb). anyhow, when we finally got into the park, we rode finding nemo, peter pan, pinocchio, and buzz lightyear's astro blasters. i really suck at that game! anthony's score was almost ten times higher than mine! haha. it's a good thing we upgraded our passes because i definitely need more practice.

peanut butter and jelly

while anthony was driving home from work today, he called to tell me that we were going to guppy's to meet up with his uncle's family. yeeee! i always have a hard time convincing him to go there, but whenever someone else invites us he always says yes. so anyway, this time for dessert, instead of getting the butter coconut brick toast, we got the peanut butter and jelly one. Y-U-M!! poor eanna couldn't have any 'cause she is allergic to peanuts, but they ordered LOTS of other food so there were plenty more things on the table for her to choose from.

clean rings

anthony and i went to the mall for lunch today. after eating my delicious chick fil a kids meal, i took my wedding ring off for the first time in three months. the only time i take my ring off is when i have to bring it to the jewelry store to get it inspected, which is four times per year. the quarterly inspections are part of the warranty. so yeah, my rings are finally clean again. bling bling!

p.s. yes, that is a hang nail on my pinky. haha!

body building

i've recently decided that i'm going to try working out more often. it's been a while since i've had some really good exercise. i'd like to go back to doing my "hip hop abs" videos, but i don't really have much space in the living room right now. so in the meantime, i'm just getting started on working out my arms with some light weights. i need to tone up for hawaii, ya know? haha. while anthony and i were walking around at sports authority earlier, i was checking out all the mascular mannequins in the clothing section. i told anthony that i want to look like this one. haha. i'm almost there, right?!

good fortune

today was pretty uneventful. anthony and i picked up our dinner from panda express earlier 'cause he wanted to try their new walnut shrimp. it was not bad. i was hoping i would get a good fortune in my cookie so i'd have an exciting story to write, but nope. i wasn't impressed. i usually don't even pay attention to the fortunes, though. i just like the cookies!

redbox

anthony and i stopped by 7-11 after church today 'cause i wanted to get some hot chocolate and a movie. i love redbox. it's so convenient. and can you see what i ended up renting?! haha. don't hate!

hawaiian appetizer

today we met up with our hawaiian peeps to finalize the details for our upcoming trip to the big island this may! woohoo! we had hawaiian food for dinner at local place and then finished it off with some shaved ice from the "get shaved" truck. let the countdown begin! kona here we come!

victory

today i saw my three cutie God babies at victoria's championship basketball game. two teams in her league were tied for first place, but after tonight's game victoria's team was victorious! woohoo! it was such an exciting game. after the girls got their trophies, the whole team went to mc donalds to celebrate. happy meals all around! haha. how cute.

graham central station

while i am happy that the weather is finally starting to warm up, i still can't completely celebrate yet because i feel sick. i am thinking it might just be really bad allergies, though, 'cause this always seems to happen whenever the weather starts changing. so anyway, to make things more cheerful around here, anthony and i watched UP while i ate some ice cream right out of the carton. how gross, huh? haha. i never do that, but i made an exception this time 'cause it was almost empty and i was too lazy to put it in a bowl. i did not even finish it, though, so i recommend you decline the next time you come over and i offer you some ice cream. (= just kidding. but yeah, whenever anthony goes snowboarding, he stops at handel's on the way home to get some ice cream. it is good stuff. this most recent time he got "graham central station." deeeelicious.

p.s. do you like my ghetto cupcake shirt? i made it at an airbrushing workshop at the craft fair i went to in january. i was not a very skilled airbrusher. haha.

pinching claws

happy st. patrick's day! my cousin, rod, is in the navy.. and since his ship is docked at seal beach this week, we picked him up to hang out for a while. we were going to try our luck at boiling crab, but since there were so many people waiting outside of the restaurant we changed our minds and, as usual, ended up at claws instead. i don't know why we always overestimate the sizes of our stomachs when we eat there. even though we all ate 'til we were stuffed, we still ended up with so many leftovers. we should have used the crab claws that we left on the table to pinch anthony 'cause he didn't even bother wearing any green today. what a party pooper.

bed head

for the record, this picture is gross on purpose. jenn and i had dinner at the habit earlier, and just like old times, we ended the night lounging inside my parked car on her parents' driveway! i always wondered if things would be different when all my friends started getting married.. but nope. still feels the same. i guess the only thing that'll make hanging out feel different is when we start having kids. but even then, the only difference there is that our babies will be crying in the backseat as we chat the night away. haha. yeah right. but anyway, after our chat session, we decided to show off our lovely bed head.. or car head in this case. yeowzas.

taking a stroll

because i am on a mission to get some color onto my ghostly white skin, i took a break from work earlier and went for a stroll with anthony. the weather was lovely. we walked to the bank, the post office, the ice cream shop, and the bakery. i got some fresh air, exercise, and slightly darker skin. unfortunately, i also got a blister on my foot. hahaha! you win some, you lose some. =P

jay leno's car

for dinner tonight, anthony and i decided to head on down to hermosa beach to eat at paisano's. while we were looking for a parking spot, we noticed that jay leno was standing in front of the comedy & magic club! he had just arrived so he was still getting out of his car. luckily, we found a parking spot about a block away, so we quickly got out and headed towards him. he was just hanging out on the sidewalk talking to the bouncers, but then ten seconds before we reached him, he was escorted into the club. darn it! we were so close. but whatever, we both agreed that it wasn't even that a big a deal. we hardly even watch his show. i only wanted a picture with him so i could post it on this blog, but it wasn't heartbreaking when it didn't happen. so anyway, we continued walking towards paisano's and ordered a pepperoni pizza. we picked a table, and then after sitting there for about five minutes, i realized that we never put any coins in our parking meter!! we were in such a hurry to get over to jay leno that we completely forgot. so anthony rushed back over to my car to put some coins in, only to find that i already got a parking ticket! =( what a bummer. and since we didn't feel like waiting for jay leno to come out of the club after we were done eating, here i am posing with his green car in the background instead. haha. it's better than nothing, right?!

so in the end, i paid $50 to take a picture with jay leno's car. ridonkulous.

camp snoopy

today i went to knott's berry farm with venus, chad, grace, and two of their friends. i got in for free because venus had two complimentary passes. woohoo! i wasn't in the mood to go on any rides, so instead venus and i just walked around, ate some fried chicken, and chit chatted while we waited for this kids to get off the rides. while we were there, i was telling both venus and grace that i am starting to feel so old. the majority of the people at knott's were high school kids. and it's not that i would want to go back to being a teenager, but man.. it just made me realize that so much time has passed! but anyway, it was still a fun day. i had some QT with vee and finally got some sun on my face.

oversleeping

because i have been inside my house for most of the week, i told anthony that i wanted to go out for dinner tonight. i really needed to get out of the house. BUT, since anthony was tired, he asked if he could take a nap first. i shouldn't have let him do that, though, because once he was asleep it was impossible to wake him up! he didn't wake up from his "nap" until 1:30am!!! he felt really bad and kept insisting that we still go out (to norm's) but at that time i obviously wasn't in the mood to go anymore. what a loser. but oh well. i guess the plus side is that i made it a whole week without buying food (aside from the shaved ice i got the other night). it was our goal to save a little money this week because we spent a lot last weekend. mission accomplished. cha-ching!

monkey brains

even though it's been sooo cold these past couple days, i still decided that i wanted to go get some shaved ice for dessert earlier. so anthony and i put on our warmest jackets (which ended up being a snowboarding jacket for anthony.. how ridiculous) and then headed over to carson to line up at the "get shaved" shaved ice truck. luckily, we were the only ones in line.. 'cause apparently only crazy people go out for shaved ice when it's cold out. i ordered the "monkey brains" which is strawberry & banana flavored ice on top of vanilla ice cream and condensed milk. anthony was so not into it at first 'cause he thought i was just ordering a snow cone, but once he tasted it he agreed that it was really good! it was not like a snow cone at all. it was really smooth and creamy. we ate it in my car with the heater on full blast. how silly. we plan on visiting the truck again once the weather starts getting warmer. yum yum yum!

weirdos

i was looking at a bunch of old pictures earlier, including this one of me and gennie from a few years ago, when i decided to text her. all i said was, "what's up?" but then it turned into a game of word association, resulting in the most ridiculous text conversation ever. haha! within just a few minutes, she and i had texted back and forth so many times. my friends are so weird! =P

cheese rolls

i know, i know.. the pictures on this blog just keep getting more and more ridiculous. but would you rather see me shoving a cheese roll down my throat? haha. yesterday after brunch, anthony and i stopped by porto's to pick up a box of their delicious cheese rolls. i love them! i ate one as soon as i woke up this morning, another after lunch, and then one more after dinner. hmm, maybe that's why today's picture is so cheesy. *ba-dum PSH*

today we went to the sunday champagne brunch at the hilton in universal city to celebrate peter's 21st birthday . while we were eating, a lady came up to us and mumbled some stuff that we couldn't quite understand. but since she was holding a camera, we figured out that she wanted to take a picture of us. a little later she came back to the table to show us the pictures she took, and since we didn't want to buy them she left us with this complimentary post card. haha. we were cracking up at how weird we look. i look cuh-razy!!!

dancing toes

we headed out to "the district" in tustin earlier to watch alice in wonderland. i enjoyed the movie. i especially liked the mad hatter's dance towards the end. haha. so random! after the movie, we migrated over to costa mesa to have dinner at california shabu shabu. it was a really cute place and the food was good, as shabu shabu always is. before we left, i asked if we could take a group picture. but look how rude anthony was.. stepping on milton's toes! sheesh!! haha. maybe he was trying to imitate johnny depp's footwork? =P

a couple months ago, karl put me on blast on his facebook page.. so now it's my turn to return the favor!! haha. just kidding. but since these two kiddos occasionally visit my blog, i forced them to pose in this picture with me. i guess the joke's on me, though, 'cause my eyes are hardly open. the flash was blinding!

the drowsy chaperone

today we went to the cerritos performing arts center to watch the drowsy chaperone. christine saw the play when she was in NY a couple years ago, but after watching it again tonight, the first thing she said to us as soon as the show ended was, "i'm sorry." hahaha!! i guess it wasn't as good as she remembered. i still enjoyed it, though. but i think part of the reason why the show was not super enjoyable for everyone was 'cause anthony and i stunk up the theater by eating fish tacos during the play. hahaha! so gross, i know, but we were really hungry! anyway, it was still a fun night.

31 years

anthony and i stopped by my parents' house today to give them a cake for their 31st anniversary! their anniversary is actually not until tomorrow, but they will be going out of town this weekend so we had to celebrate it a little early. too bad their big girl and two little girls couldn't be here to join us in the picture. we should've done another video chat. oh well. happy anniversary, mommy & daddy!

basketball game

today anthony and i went to carson high to watch victoria's basketball game. we missed the first half, but were still able to see victoria shoot a basket in the second half! it was so cute. those little girls are hard workers! i feel bad posting this pic because victoria's hair is still messy from the game, but at least you can see what a serious athlete she is! her team won by more than double. woohoo!

p.s. i seriously need a tan. i look like a scary vampire next to victoria.

fancy dessert

today is rianne's birthday! we celebrated her special day by having dinner at el rocoto. after eating, the waiter came to bring her this super cute plate of dessert! how sweet, huh?! i can just imagine how hard he worked to create this piece of art. too bad rianne just smeared it all up!! i jumped in the picture at the very last second, so that's why i look so weird. i keep cracking up because my head looks so small compared to rianne's. hahaha.

hooter

i don't like the picture that i took for today, so i decided to use this one instead. this is the owl brooch that i made as part of rianne's birthday present. i felt like what i bought her was not exciting by itself, so i wanted to throw something else in the box. and the funny thing about this owl's name is that it was inspired by the character in captain EO. last friday at disneyland, we kept laughing anytime michael jackson would yell out "hooter" during the show. and since then, anthony and i have been shouting that out to each other at random times throughout the day. it's just funny the way MJ says it. haha. hooter!!!
