Happy Halloween!

Today was supposed to be Weston's first birthday party, but it was postponed due to a chicken pox scare. Weston started showing symptoms the other day (fever and sore throat) but luckily the pox never showed up. I like to think that my breastmilk and everyone's prayers helped protect him. :)

So our Halloween ended up being a lot simpler, but we still had lots of fun with these out-of-towners who still made the trip to celebrate with us. Thanks for trick-or-treating with us, Singsons and Andersons!!

One year check up

How did I end up with such a tall baby? This guy is still at the top of the charts! He also got 4 shots today. Reese was unpleasantly surprised with a shot, too. Sorry boys!

Weston's 1st birthday!

We had a simple birthday celebration (pizza, wings, pancit and cupcakes) for Weston at my parents' house tonight, with just our immediate families. And look what the celebrant decided to premiere on his big day!!! What a funny day to start walking. 

Happy birthday to our giant baby who is always moving at 100mph. I can't believe how quickly the year flew by. It's been crazy and I'm so sleep-deprived, but my heart is just oozing with love. Love you, Westy!!!

Destruction

RiAnne gave Reese this Thor hammer just a few days ago and Weston already managed to destroy it. He wants to eat everything. 

Bedtime

Bedtime is rough. Neither baby wants to sleep. Both boys want to hang out with mommy. I just want to sleep. Instead, I end up going back and forth to both boys who take turns crying for me to stay with them. I love hanging out with my boys, but it's so hard to please them both at the same time. If we're all together, they end up fighting and I end up yelling. I wish they would just get along. Or I wish they would love Anthony as much as they love me. Haha. Today I got lucky.

Reesey, on the other hand, was NOT a happy camper. We cancelled his lessons a couple months ago because he told us he was over it, but now all of a sudden he wants to swim again. Drama baby. 

Dentist

Reese, Anthony and I went to the dentist today. No cavities for the mejia fam! Haha 

New old toy

Reese hasn't played with this excavator in over a year. Weston recently discovered it and came out riding it the other day (which was hilarious btw) and now all of a sudden it's also Reese's favorite toy. Ridiculous.

We stopped by the mall because Anthony had to buy some glasses for his friends. It's his last chance to buy glasses at the "friends and family" sale before he is officially layed off. Reesey picked these glasses out for us. According to him, my favorite color is red. And his is green.

PS I always feel a little embarrassed when we go out in public after picking the boys up from Carson. They typically just wear house clothes while they're over there because it's more comfortable than real clothes. But in public, it's like, "What the heck are you wearing?" You should see what Weston is wearing! Haha. Oh well. No big deal.

Anthony brought Reese's old walker in (which totally faded in the sun) and Weston was so excited to show us his skills. Haha. He thinks walking is so funny. I'm excited for him to walk on his own, but also sad. Grow but stay a baby, Wes!

8/18 year anniversary

Today we celebrated our 8/18 year anniversary at mickeys Halloween party at Disneyland! It was so hot and so tiring, but lots of fun.

The Dys and Gruezos joined us too. I'm so grateful to have friends who are in the same boat as us and understand the struggle. So fun to enjoy this stage of life with others.

Full day

today was the first saturday in a long time where we didn't have plans. but it ended up being a full day anyway. after soccer practice, we joined patricia at her very simple birthday lunch at the park.

then, since it was too hot at home, reese and i wanted to go somewhere cool. we picked up auntie fely, bought some mocha creme frappuccinos and walked around at target. we also lucked out and found the last car on our cars hunt. we've been searching for this guy for a long time!

and lastly, we picked up anthony and wes and then went to check out the new del amo mall. it was lovely.

Girls night

I had a fun girls dinner with Gen, Jonah and Nina tonight. It was the latest I'd stayed out since Weston was born, so he was not a very happy camper when I got home. Neither were my boobs. 

Happy driver

Weston's been waking up early lately so Anthony takes him out while I continue to sleep. This is the kind of stuff they do for fun. 

Fresh n easy

Reese requested that we stop at fresh n easy so we could buy "apples, bananas, oranges, and milk." Sounds like a good list to me!

Iron man

Anthony just completed his second half-ironman triathlon. Now he can finally relax. 

Before heading home, we stopped at shake shack for dinner. 

Hotel day

Anthony is doing his big race tomorrow, and is having major anxiety today. The boys and I ended up being stranded in the hotel room for the first half of the day, and then left Anthony stranded in the room after he got back because we wanted to go out while all he wanted to do was bury his head under the pillow. 

Road trip

We're en route to Vegas for the weekend. This is Weston's first road trip. Pretty epic for a boy who absolutely hates riding in the car. Haha.
