gel's sweet baby shower

today was the big day that venus and i have been preparing for for the past few weeks. it was gel's cupcake themed baby shower! venus and i had a lot of fun planning, baking, and making decorations. all our work paid off because i think everything turned out super cute! i think gel enjoyed it all, too, right gel!? haha. success! a sweet shower for a sweet-mommy-to-be! can't wait to meet baby sage!

hanging out with the tourists

after work, rianne, ricky, and i met up with anthony, peter, and michelle at 3rd street promenade. the aussies wanted to see beverly hills and santa monica before they leave for new york tomorrow morning, so my mom showed them around rodeo drive and then dropped them off with anthony in SaMo after he got off work. we had a fun night hanging out at barney's beanery. they are such a friendly/happy couple and i'm glad we got to spend some time with them during their trip.

shrimp truck

i was so excited earlier when i found out that the shrimp guys were going to be parking their food truck in gardena. i've been wanting to try them out ever since i found out about them, but sadly i have to admit that i was not that impressed. i thought their shrimp was just okay. oh well. it was still worth going out to the food trucks 'cause we bumped into the hongpanich girls (our friends' kids)! hehe. how cute.

australian cousins

today i went to my parents' house to have dinner and meet my cousin, peter, and his wife, michelle, who just flew in from australia. they are on a month-long vacation visiting various cities in the US and canada. how fun, huh?! we were all pleased to meet them and enjoyed hearing their cute australian accents. haha!

memento

while anthony and i were sorting through boxes of his old stuff the other day, we came across so many mementos from the earlier days of our relationship. i used to give him the cheesiest gifts, like this super lame picture frame. haha!

the brat

i went to carson after work today to visit my family and my snobby cat. meli and i took a one hour nap together. she was purring like crazy. but then after we woke up and i took this picture, she went back to being a snob and pretended that she didn't like me anymore. haha. brat cat!

living well and thriving

in case you didn't know, i have not felt like myself for almost a month now. my symptoms included: headache for three weeks STRAIGHT; ear ache for two weeks; and occasional dizziness, hearing loss, nausea, and throat pain. the pain just kept building up, and last night it got to the point where i felt like my body was going to shut down. i don't know how to explain it, but i just did not feel right. i kept putting off going to the doctor because my current insurance is with kaiser and i didn't want to have to go through the hassle of picking a new doctor. i wanted to wait 'til our new insurance kicks in (anthony got hired full-time, btw) so i could go see my old doctor. but finally, i stopped being stubborn and just went to the darn hospital to find out what is going on with me. anthony was really worried, too, and we were both prepared to hear that something really serious was causing all these things. but after talking to the doctor, she concluded that my problems are being caused by a combination of allergies and my wisdom tooth building up pressure all over my face. she prescribed me sudafed (gen!) and within minutes of taking it, the pain freaking disappeared!! it was amaaaaaazing! i could seriously feel the pressure being released from my sinuses. so weird! thanks, kaiser!

stuff i like, but don't need

i went to marukai earlier to look for supplies for next week's baby shower. while i was walking around the store, i spotted this cute cat pot/bowl/whatever it is. i thought it was really cute but knew that anthony would roll his eyes if i brought it home with me. haha. christine and i came up with a solution for those times when we see something that we like in the store that we KNOW we don't need or have any use for. instead of buying it and having it take up room in our homes, we simply take a picture of it! haha. so yeah, that explains today's pic. girl's night

i had a fun night out with denise and gennie. we had dinner at gyu kaku and then had dessert at yogurtland. it was so cold outside so we decided to eat our yogurt inside gennie's car with the heater on. =P

milk + fly honeys

rianne and christine met up with me at my work earlier to hang out for the evening. after chris treated us to dinner at pat & oscar's, we went to get some dessert at milk + honey. i forgot to take a picture of our m+h special, but it looked a little something like this. haha. jk. what if it was really that big? as my grandma would say, "imaginnnne!"

creative packaging

tomorrow is chad's girlfriend's birthday and so he came to his trusty sisters for ideas on how to creatively package her gifts all together. i hope she appreciates all the hard work and brainstorming that went into this. haha, just kidding! it was fun. and for the record, YES chad has a girlfriend now and NO he did not buy her gift from victoria's secret. that would be disgusting. =P

improv

the girls and i went to the brea improv tonight. there were about 7 or 8 comedians. none of them were outrageously funny, but at the same time, none of them were really unfunny. that's good, i guess! i get free tickets all the time, so if anybody ever wants some tickets, let me know!

happy wife

i gave anthony a really hard time when he came home from big bear last night. haha. i didn't really mind that he wanted to go out and do something fun with his buddies, i think i was just bitter that he did all that AND ate dinner without me. haha. i know i was just being a brat. but anyway, to make it up to me, he took me to olive garden for dinner tonight. yahoooo! i love it. i always order the exact same thing when we go there, and the entire meal is always delicious. breadsticks, soup, chicken fettucine alfredo, and andes' mints for dessert! so good!

silly girl

i was pretty bored the whole day 'cause anthony went mountain biking at big bear. i get into moods sometimes when i only feel like hanging out with a particular person, and today that person happened to be priscilla. i miss having her around to be my little sidekick. ever since she was born, she and i have been super duper close. she's my little mini-me. so yeah, it's hard now that she lives in minnesota. but anyway, i still feel like we're close because she keeps in touch with all us family members by updating her blog. this is the picture i found on her blog today. what a silly girl! she is always so much fun. so can you see why i miss her so much?

new house

today venus and i went to mira loma to visit gel at her new house. everyone's been moving into new homes lately! that's so cool. gel's house is super nice and totally fits her and jason's style. i'm so happy for them. exciting times!

sleepy time

this is an awful picture but it's the only one i took today. it wasn't 'til the very end of the day, when anthony and i were on our way home, that i realized i never took one. we had just left san pedro where we checked out his family's new house. we were soooo sleepy, but for some reason we kept cracking up the whole drive home. we were laughing so hard at the corniest jokes. i dont know why but sometimes things seem funnier when i'm sleepy. haha. or like if someone says a joke while i'm yawning, it will sometimes make me laugh much harder than if i wasn't yawning when i heard it. weird!

a simple wedding

i got into work late today because i spent the morning in fullerton witnessing christine and jimmy's wedding! they wanted to do a very simple wedding before their big one in october. the ceremony was short and sweet. it was so sweet that i wanted to cry, but too short that i didn't have enough time to. hehe! McCaffeine

man. venus texted me last night telling me that her and gracie got mocha frappes. after that i couldn't stop thinking about getting one! i ended up succumbing to the temptations during lunch today. it was delicious and it really helped wake me up (as you can see).

tall husband

my huz and i went to del amo mall earlier to walk around. i was hoping to get some candy from sweet factory but i lost track of time while i was browsing through some clothes in another store, and so the candy shop closed right before we got there. darn it! oh well. on our way back to the car, we walked through macy's and tried on some hats. we always look so silly. but i love how anthony looks so tall in this picture. haha.

mini pinkberry

it's been a while since i've eaten pinkberry, so i was surprised earlier to find out that they totally changed their whole ordering process. i was pretty full after eating dinner, so i wasn't in the mood for dessert, but venus treated me and grace to "mini" sized cups and it was the perfect amount. sa-weet!

food night

my family and i had dinner at rianne's new condo tonight. we had shabu shabu, pasta, spam musubi, lumpia, and chocolate chip cookies. so much food! before we left, we wanted to take an updated jumping picture because rianne and ricky actually have furniture now. wahoo!

ale alejandro

today was alex's birthday! we went over to the calderon's house in lakewood to help him celebrate. we had a good time eating, playing games, and waching fireballs in the sky. haha. no really! happy birthday, ale alejandro!

after work, i met up with venus, grace, and vanessa&co at rolling hills to watch despicable me. the movie was so cute! i highly recommend it. (=

celebrating ed's birthday

anyway, today was ed's 30th birthday! we met up with ed and his peeps at claws in garden grove. the shrimp was extra delicious this time! after dinner, we all went over to yogurtland for dessert. so much goodness!

grace and i are proud to show off our new matching shoes. i've been promoting these shoes all around town ever since i bought them a couple weeks ago. haha. in case you've never heard of toms, for every pair that gets purchased, one pair of shoes gets donated to a child in need. one for one! they're super cute and comfortable, too. now go buy a pair!

i gave myself a really cheesy manicure for the 4th of july. it's not a look that i plan to sport when i go back to work tomorrow, though. haha. but they were perfectly acceptable for my lazy day off today. (=

celebrating our independence

happy 4th of july, everyone! our holiday was pretty good. we spent the afternoon at my parents' house in carson for their block party. it was just too bad that their block does not know how to party!!! haha. aside from us, only two other houses participated. quite sad, especially because my parents did a lot to prepare for it and even bought enough food to feed the whole neighborhood.. but oh well. it was okay in the end. we just thought it was funny that nobody else bothered. so anyway, after leaving the party of the century, anthony and i went to wilson park to watch the fireworks. the fireworks started just seconds after we picked a spot on the grass. perfect timing!

costa mesa

i always want to go to the daikokuya in costa mesa during my lunch breaks, but never end up going 'cause i'm not excited to go by myself. today, anthony and i were in the area so i was finally able to go! the ramen at this location was just as good as the one in little tokyo. soooo yum!


after eating, we stopped by south coast plaza for a while and then i was excited to bring anthony to milk + honey, which is a place near my office that has really good shaved ice. i ordered a freaking $7 large shaved ice special because i thought anthony would enjoy it as much as i do, but after i got it he told me that he didn't even want any. ugh! what a party pooper. haha. whatever, though.. more for me! he kept laughing because the cup was as big as my head. i ended up finishing 90% of it. his loss!

the lame airbender

after dinner earlier, anthony and i went to watch the last airbender at the theaters in PV. the next available showtime was for the 3D version, but because we didn't feel like spending an extra $7, we decided on the next regular showing which was 45 minutes later. to kill time, we waited in the car and looked at pictures of jazmin. so exciting, just like the movie. not. haha.
