bacon and coke

look what i had for dinner.. bacon and rice with an ice cold coke. ahhhh! delish! haha. if you know me, you must know that i love bacon. when i used to go bowling back in college, we would often go to denny's afterward for a late night snack. i would always just order a side of bacon and a coke. the waiters (and my friends) would always laugh at me, but they obviously don't know how what's good in life! =P

closet

anthony made me a closet today! he was embarassed after he took this picture because he said it doesn't even look like anything special, but it's 10 times better than it was when we moved in. this is the mini "walk-in" closet in our master bedroom. when we first got the keys to our house, we were surprised to find moldy, smelly, deteriorating walls in here. i went crazy right away spraying bleach all over the place, and anthony spent hours and hours the next few weeks repairing the holes and sanding down the walls. then after putting on some sealing primer and a fresh coat of paint to match the rest of the room, anthony finally installed some new racks and shelves today! he is still going to add more shelves to my right, but this is good enough for the meantime. at least i can unpack the rest of my clothes now that i have somewhere to hang them. good job, anthony!

like the wind

today was sooo windy! and just like the wind, anthony and i were flying all over the place all day long. we went to grace's championship basketball game, korean bell (where we took this pic), bellflower to pick up my car from the body shop, tam's pizzeria to say hello to jimmy (who wasn't there), dolphin bay in artesia for lunch, home to take a nap, carson to celebrate ricky's birthday, a couple thrift stores, ross, and lowe's! whew.

dots

venus and grace went on another cupcake adventure today, but this time they invited me to come along. we ended up hanging out in pasadena where we got cupcakes at dots and then ate dinner at noodle world. i got a little carried away and ended up picking out six different flavors of cupcakes. woops.

home

sorry, i got nothin' for ya. ever since moving into the new house, all i've been wanting to do is just hang out at home. doesn't make for very exciting pictures, though, i know.

marshmallow cheeks

while i was at work earlier, gel sent me this picture of sage wearing her cupcake hat. as soon as i saw it, i blurted out, "oh my gosh!!!!" hahaha. her cheeks just keep getting bigger and bigger!! soooooooo cute!!

win-win

this was supposed to be a "before" picture of our built-in china cabinet. while anthony was at home cooking adobo, i went to target to buy new handles and pulls to replace the glass ones shown here. did you catch that? i went shopping while anthony cooked me food? talk about a win-win situation!

home goods

i went to home goods after work today to try to find an inexpensive mirror for our bedroom. i didn't buy a mirror, but i bought a pillow and some organizing baskets. i love that store.

sleepy baby

we went to visit the launius family this afternoon. i'm usually pretty lazy on sundays, and today was no exception. but at least our mini hostess appeared to be feeling the same way!

bruce

today while anthony and i were fixer-upping the house, we had a surprise visit from gus and bruneau! bruneau is his french name (since he's a french bulldog), but i like to call him bruce! i'm not even sure if he remembered me, but he still acted so excited when we first said hello. what a sweet boy!

new fridge

my mom and auntie fely dropped by for a visit this afternoon. they even brought us pizza and chicken wings for lunch! while they were over, our new fridge was finally delivered! yay!!! i feel soooo spoiled everytime we get something new for the house. i felt that way when we first hooked up our washer and dryer.. and now this!? it's like, "i own this?!" the fridge was a housewarming gift from anthony's aunt and uncle, btw. thank you, anthony, for being a loving nephew! thank you, uncle manny and auntie cindy, for the beautiful refrigerator! and thank you, mommy, for the food to put inside it!

cute dishes

i always like the seasonal dishware that they sell at target. today when we passed by the easter goodies, i got all excited and started picking things up to buy. anthony gave me a look like, "you've got to be kidding me."

kitchen

rianne came over today to help me FINALLY tackle the kitchen. i have been avoiding cleaning it because i still want to paint the walls and cabinets. but today i realized that it would probably make more sense to just put everything away first. it already looks so much better, even with the current, tacky paint!

chicken tortilla soup

when we went to the bridal show the other day, cafe rio had a booth set up where they were giving out samples of their nachos. i thought they were pretty good so that's where anthony and i went for dinner last night. while we were there, i wanted to try the chicken tortilla soup, but ended up not ordering it because anthony already went overboard with what HE ordered. but thennnn, today i couldn't stop thinking about the soup! haha. i saw that they had a location in costa mesa, and even though it was completely on the other side of town, i still went there for lunch to get me some soup. i'm glad i did because it totally hit the spot!

statue cat

when anthony and i got home from dinner tonight, we found this cat posing like a statue on our front porch! haha. it was soooo cute! i was hoping to make a new friend, but it ran away as we walked up to it. darn it!

my valentine

happy valentine's day! anthony and i usually don't care to compete with all the crowds of people out on valentine's day, so we decided to skip the fancy restaurants and instead just went to our favorite.. furaibo! when we walked in, there were only two other tables being occupied. suh-weeeeet! the food was delicious as usual, so we had a very happy valentine's day. haha.

photo booth

today eva invited all of us bridesmaids to the bridal show in anaheim. the expo was much smaller than i imagined, but it was still fun to walk around and look at all the pretty stuff. in addition to trying all the samples at the food booths, eva and i tested out a photo booth, too. fun!

sweetiepies

i was having a lazy saturday afternoon when anthony's siblings came by with a sweet surprise. venus and grace have been cupcake-hunting lately, and so today they came to bring us more cupcakes! they picked chocolate raspberry for anthony and strawberry with cream cheese for me.

mini pizookie

we went to bj's for dinner tonight. we ordered as little as possible because we didn't want leftovers (nowhere to put em), but we were still both so full after eating! yet since i always have room for dessert, i still wanted to order a pizookie. anthony said he would have a couple bites. i knew it would be too much (and too gross) if i finished a whole pizookie by myself, so i was pleased to find out that they make mini pizookies, too! yay! perfect!

husband

we had to bring my car to a body shop this morning to get an estimate on having my bumper fixed. i really dislike having to deal with stuff like that, so i'm thankful that anthony automatically handles it. i get to stand around and take pictures while he makes phonecalls and takes care of business. i love having a husband.

small and big deals

i was involved in a little fender bender this morning on my way to work. thank God it was not a big deal. after my little scare, i figured that i was allowed to treat myself to a mocha frappe even though i've disciplined myself to only get them on fridays. that's reasonable, right? i always tell anthony that the girl who works in the mc donalds drive-thru hates me. i don't know what i ever did to her, but she always just stares at me when i say "hi" and "thank you." she is so unfriendly. haha. but today!!! she actually threw a smile in my direction! whether or not she was actually smiling at ME is questionable, but the fact that she didn't switch it to a frown the moment she saw me is a pleasant surprise. being rear-ended was not a big deal, but acknowledgement from someone who usually hates me is a huge deal in my book! =P

ice cream

our fridge still hasn't arrived so anthony and i had to go to mc d's to satisfy our ice cream cravings. vanilla cones are the best!

yapping the night away

tonight was nice! i had a lovely dinner with my lovely gennie at our favorite.. olive garden! aw yeah! as usual it was nice catching up. we were yapping so much that we didn't even notice we were the only customers left in the restaurant! haha. but yeah, good times as usual. (=

harry and harriet

what a hairy picure this is. since toni flew back to monterey today, she asked if she could drop by in the morning before i left for work to see the house. it was so early and it was obvious that both of us had just rolled out of bed. haha. anthony had a mix up when he called to get all our utilities turned on last week, and so our gas was shut off and won't be back on 'til wednesday! doh! in the meantime we have to go shower at my parents' house at night. anytime i go to sleep with wet hair, i wake up looking like this! fluffy!

nutella cupcake

anthony's mom and sisters came to see our new house today. when venus and grace came, they brought me a cupcake! it was white cake with nutella buttercream frosting and it was delicious. excellent choice, gracie!

coming to america

today i met my cousin, elgin, and her family for the very first time. they just moved here from the philippines yesterday! how exciting for them. elgin said that when their son, george, got off the plane, he excitedly asked, "am i really here? am i in america?!" haha. how cute. i'm always happy to meet new cousins!

visiting

we had a lot of errands to run today, but first on our list was to stop by the old house to check for mail. i wanted to take a nice picture in front of the house before new people move in, but nobody was there to take the picture for us. this'll have to do for now!

carson buffet

toni's grandpa passed away last week, and so we joined her at his memorial mass at st. philomena this afternoon. after mass, we all went to carson buffet for a late lunch. i finally got to meet anna's baby girl, emma. how precious!

doing nothing

for the first time since getting our keys last week, i came home from work and did NOTHING. i felt guilty while i heard anthony working away in the laundry nook, but he said he didn't care. NOTHING has never felt so good!

living room

our new house is like a construction zone. so far, the only room that is anywhere near complete is the living room. but for that very reason, it is also acting as our dining room and bedroom. at least it's cozy!

just looking

wow. i look nazz-D in this picture. i think my lack of a good night's sleep for the past week is finally catching up to me. anthony and i had to go to target for cleaning supplies tonight and i somehow wandered my way into the clothing section. haha! with all the expenses of buying a new house, i really had no business shopping for clothes. but don't worry, i just looked. when i saw myself in the mirror, i was like, "whoa. you need to get out of here, go home, and sleep!"
