tonight, we went to gel and jason's house to watch the UFC fight. but penn vs gsp wasn't the only big fight of the evening. no, gel's little puppy, holly, picked a fight of her own. she was so excited to have visitors that she decided to steal the show by creating her own main event: holly vs karen. haha! my hands are covered in scratches as i type this. but i don't mind at all. she is soooo cute. she can nibble on me any day!

so for dinner tonight, we went to "claws" in garden grove. it's a vietnamese-owned, pirate-themed restaurant that serves seafood cooked in a variety of sauces. they covered our table with paper and put bibs on us, too! we really enjoyed the food. by the end of the meal, our hands were covered in all kinds of good stuff. haha. since both of our servers were pretty shy, rianne and christine suggested that i take a picture of the statue instead. ay ay cap'n!

i used to hate jamba juice. i don't remember the name of the first thing i ever ordered from there, but it was gross. so i went years and years without ever going back. but then one sweet day, anthony ordered a "peach pleasure" and told me to try it. that's when i fell in love. now i'm always craving it. today, in addition to getting my peach pleasure, anthony ordered the white gummi bear off of their secret menu. it was pretty good, but not as good as mine!

soooo, the project is done! what a relief. after informing my boss that i finished it, he responded with, "it's okay if you don't ship it out today. it's not due 'til tomorrow." UGH. but anyway, to thank me for my hard work, he told me to take anthony out to a nice dinner. so we went to the olive garden! i planned on taking a picture of our waitress, but my dumb butt forgot the camera at home. so instead i am showing you a picture that i didn't actually take. you see, jenn and i like to text each other random pictures, and this is what i received from her today. okay, how sad is it that this is already my 4th picture on this blog? talk about livin' la vida lonely. but i had no other choice since i spent the ENTIRE day working.

i spoke prematurely the other day when i said that everything was back in order. as murphy's law states: whatever can go wrong will go wrong, at the worst possible time, in the worst possible way. i am convinced that this project is cursed. it's so crazy how an already ridiculously difficult task was able to mutate itself into something much worse. but whatever. all i can do is keep working. i stayed up 'til 6AM last night/morning.. and only took a couple short naps since then. and i plan on pulling another all-nighter tonight. wish me luck. and pray that my computer doesn't get struck by lighting right before i finish the job.

i'm not too thrilled at the fact that there are two people in this picture (no offense to the people in it), but the only way my dad would agree to have his picture taken was if my mom was in it, too.

i didn't work at my parents' house today like i usually do. because of that, my mom called me to ask me what the deal was. they miss me when i'm not there! ha! i stopped by to say hello and to take this picture.

problems! more problems! but it doesn't matter anymore. all that matters is that all the problems were eventually solved, and everything is now back in order.

i didn't want to end our weekend without doing something normal, so we decided to go to san pedro to visit anthony's family. when i started telling grace about my stressful weekend, she just giggled. she giggles after everything. even if she's saying something serious, she'll still giggle afterward. so that's my lesson for this weekend. even after everything that went wrong, i am just going to giggle and call it a day.

wow.

and i thought yesterday was bad. today makes yesterday look like a walk in the park! so after doing all my "prep work" last night, i was ready to start really making progress on this job that's due next week. to help me, my boss called and told me that my new (and supposedly better/faster) computer was ready to use. anthony and i went to cerritos to pick it up, only to find out that it was missing a software application that i need to do my work. soooo, after leaving cerritos, we went to virgil's house in carson to pick up his computer, too. i didnt want to be working at his house all night, so we took his computer (which made him mad) and the new one to our house and started setting everything up. however, virgil's computer was having problems reading my new monitor. i had to go to my mom's house (where i usually work) to pick up an older, freaking 70 pound monitor that i had there. i brought it back here to my house, and then when we tried setting it up, the computer wouldn't start up at all anymore! at this point, it was already almost 8:00pm. it was so frustrating, especially since i still didn't make any progress on getting the job done. in the end, anthony and i had to drive back to cerritos at midnight to meet up with these random people who were going to try fixing it. we stayed there until 3:30am, and it was still not fixed by the time we got home. so now i am freaking out, feeling totally guilty. i not only screwed up my own schedule, but also virgil's.. whose computer i broke!! terrible.

thennnnn, while anthony and i were looking for parking on our street, we noticed that our neighbor's front door was wide open and her dog was running around the street. all the lights were off in her house. we found that very strange. we decided to stand out there for a while to see if she would come out to get the dog. she did not. and the dog did not stop barking. so then we started thinking that something terrible happened, like she was just robbed (or worse). we decided to call the police to ask them to check up on her. so again, i was freaking out.. at freaking 4:00 am. the police arrived a couple minutes later. they checked up on the house and the front door was now closed and the dog was barking inside the house. so the cops were like, "uhh, maybe the dog was misbehaving and she decided let him out?" so we ended up feeling like boneheads. haha. well, obviously it was relieving to find out that nothing was really wrong, but it was just another unnecessary thing to stress over.

i had another rough day. things always seem to come crashing down at the same time. today i found out that one of the biggest projects of the year, one that i haven't even started yet, is due next wednesday. so along with all the health problems i'm dealing with, i now have more things to stress out over. so i got to spend my friday night working until midnight. i did not get to go to the improv with cousin christine. i did not get to watch a movie with anthony. instead, i had to work.

when i finally came home, this is what i found. anthony taught himself how to play "because of you" on the keyboard. and i know this is gonna sound super cheesy, but coming home to that made me feel like everything was okay again. he is my calm after the storm.

i'm pooped. i was busy all day trying to finish a project for work. andddd, i have been feeling really weird lately. to list a few symptoms: i have nausea, it hurts when i pee, i get random sharp pains in my back, and the upper portion of my face feels numb. what the heck, man.

so yeah, i didn't feel like asking anyone if i could take their picture today. instead, i took trigger's picture without her consent. she was happy, though. she'll take all the attention she can get.

we celebrated jen's 29th birthday at Back Home in Lahaina. and since ryan and i know one of the servers there, they hooked us up with free dessert to take home. yay!

so after a year of begging anthony to have dinner at Taco San Pedro, he finally agreed to it tonight. but there was a scandal involved. i thought we were going to the newlyweds' house to enjoy some delicious chicken flautas with them. and while that did actually happen, i found out that the real reason we went there was so i could be held hostage during the laker game. the torture!!

this is how carla felt about our lunch date today. sike. this is how she felt about the kids sitting at the table next to ours who were blowing smoke in our faces. stinky! but anywho, we had lunch at thai bbq and then finished it off with dessert at guppys. it was her first time having brick toast. it was my third time having brick toast in the past two weeks.

tonight we celebrated jenn's birthday in irvine. first, we had dinner at a vietnamese restaurant, where something i ate got into an argument with my stomach. next, we had dessert at tea station, where they served us our tea in the cutest little pitchers. last, we waited about an hour for our waitress to bring us our bill. and even though the days have been pretty warm lately, we were all so cold sitting outside. oh well. still good times!

i had a busy day. i've been pretty busy with work lately. and whenever i'm busy with work, this guy is busy making me food! this is my coworker, virgil. i go to his house several times a week to use his computer, and i never leave there feeling hungry. he constantly feeds me. today he made me ramen noodles cooked together with a hot dog and a hard boiled egg. and then he gave me roasted almonds to snack on. he's such a good host!

we just got back from christine's birthday dinner at red lobster. she wanted to have a simple get together, but it ended up being this big ol' dinner with 15 guests. haha. so anyway, instead of having christine as my face of the day, i decided to take a picture of her mom. 'cause after all, auntie bab is the one that had to give birth to christine 20 something years ago. (you like my vagueness, chris?)

i was really craving a churro earlier, so rianne and i headed over to rubio's for a churro and some fish tacos. the cashier guy who took our orders was really nice. maybe a little too nice, though. when he handed both of us our receipts, he said, "thanks babe." haha!! i was going to ask him if he wanted to be my picture of the day, but by the time rianne and i were ready to leave, he was having dinner with another customer. i guess his moves worked on her. haha.

for the past few weeks, i've been working at alice's house 'cause i'm being trained to do some CAD work. but judging by the looks of this picture, do you think we were working hard or hardly working?

brianna the ath-wii-t

any visit to toni is not complete without visiting her family! her nieces and nephew are getting so big! brianna is already taller than me! okay just kidding. but we hung out at the sims' house for a while, where brianna kicked our butts in several games of wii tennis. i was so into it that my arm got sore. wiiiiiiii!

i spent the entire day in monterey. and since i am staying at toni's place, i had the chance to meet her roommate, eva! toni, eva, and i had dinner at LallaGrill in their mall. the restaurant was so cute and the food was so much better than the thai food we had last night! haha. we hung out in the patio area for a little while after dinner, and then toni and i watched "yes man" while eva went home to sleep. i thought the movie was cute. we were laughing so hard during one part of the movie. it was so ridiculous!

today i sat in the sky for a while and then ended up in san jose. this girl came to pick me up. for dinner, we went to cupertino to eat at the cutest thai restaurant that had the worst thai food. haha. what a shame! afterwards, toni wanted to go to red mango because she doesn't have any yogurt places like that in monterey. and even though pinkberry is way better than red mango, i humored her and went along with it. HA! just kidding.

priscilla the big sister

since my initial goal of this blog was to take a picture of one new person everyday for the entire year, i asked three separate strangers if i could take their picture. but after being rejected three times, i decided it would be a lot easier (and more personal) if i was allowed to repeat faces. so the goal now is just to take a picture of someone i encounter throughout the day. and who cares if they show up 100 times on this blog. that just means i love spending time with them. so here is silla for the second time in less than a week.

today was a big day for priscilla. today she found out she was going to become the big sister to a baby... DRUMROLL PLEASE.. sister! another girl! i was thrilled at the news. so yeah, we went to blenders to celebrate.

for dinner tonight, christine and i ate at tam's pizzeria. tam's is owned by jimmy. jimmy is owned by christine. so technically, christine owns tam's.

we ate buffalo wings, chicken alfredo pizza, and garlic cheese bread. all delicious! if you're ever in the bellflower area, you should definitely try it out. even if you're not hungry, just stop by to see this smiling face. haha!

i went to visit rianne while she was at work today. kang-bin is a research scientist at her company. when we passed by his office, he was on the phone. but since he wanted an excuse to hang up on his friend, he invited us in and then told his friend that he had to go. when i asked him if i could take his picture, he told me that he didn't like having his picture taken, but then asked if he could pose with his gun. i thought he was kidding. i was wrong.

priscilla the sweetheart

this week was priscilla's last week of winter break. and instead of going out to play like normal kids do, she stayed inside the house and kept me company while i was working. she is actually super handy to have around. not only does she come by to check up on how my work is coming along, she even brings me drinks and snacks throughout the day. what a gal!

since we got THREE olive garden gift cards for Christmas this year, anthony and i went there for dinner tonight. it was delicious as usual. after dinner, we went over to san pedro so anthony could visit the love of his life, jazmin. i think she looks like an old man in this picture.

rianne the go-getter

today rianne and i went to visit our parents and their new house in tehachapi. it was freezing over there! we ended up eating lunch at a chinese buffet. rianne got the funniest fortune. it read:

haha. she was quite proud of her fortune, as you can tell by this picture.

christine the bottomless pit

so today after work, i felt like eating mexican food. but because i didnt want to eat alone, and because i know christine likes mexican food, i bought some flautas and then drove to her house to eat dinner with her. and even though we were so stuffed at the end of the meal, we decided to stuff ourselves even more by going to guppy teahouse to order boba, popcorn chicken, and brick toast. wow. the staff at guppys gave us the worst service, but it was more funny than anything else.
