i stopped by my parents' house earlier to say hello, and as soon as i got there, priscilla asked if we could go get boba. so off to get boba we went. i actually ordered something other than milk tea, though. chocolate snow bubble! yum!i had dinner with gennie and denise tonight. we ate at a thai place in long beach called bai plu(?). the food was good and it was fun catching up with my girlies. instead of taking just one of their pictures, they wanted me to put their faces together. so the result is a scary girl that i don't like to look at. haha.
so today was interesting!! christine and i went biking at manhattan beach earlier, and look who we bumped into! haha. i was about a minute ahead of christine when i noticed pau just casually walking along the road. as soon as i saw him, i knew that i wanted to grab my camera out of christine's car, so i yelled out, "HI!" and then just continued pedalling along. luckily, christine's car was only about a quarter mile away, so i rushed over there and waited for christine to bike over to me. she got mixed in with a group of bikers, so when she finally came next to me, i yelled, "hurry up! i want to get my camera so we can take his picture!" she was like, "take whose picture?" and i said, "pau!!" we were having a hard time communicating, because i was all flustered and anxious, and she was super confused about why i was yelling. so when she finally realized what i was trying to say, she turned around and bolted over to him. she said that she went up to him, threw her bike and purse onto the ground, and yelled, "can i take a picture of you?!" he was busy taking pictures with the group of bikers i mentioned earlier, but then was all nice when i got there with my camera. christine and i were so nervous, but he was super chill and polite. he even said, "i know you.. you were the one on the bike, right?" heehee!! we both took pictures with him, and then as he was walking away, christine yelled out, "i love you!!!" how ridiculous. we were sooo freaking excited, even though i really don't give a hoot about basketball. haha.
after antonio came home from work, the two of us headed over to melrose because i wanted to check out JapanLA. it ended up being a super tiny store.. not exactly what i was expecting. i still bought myself a hello kitty travel wallet, though, 'cause it was half off. (= after visiting one more store, we went to have dinner at golden bird, which yelpers described as the best fried chicken in LA. i will agree that it was pretty delicious, but i don't see myself craving it any time soon. a couple hours after getting home, i got hungry again, so i went to in-n-out with rianne. grilled cheese please!
i obviously did not take this picture, but i thought it would be okay to use given the situation. i first read the bad news on facebook, but it was prior to any official confirmations.. so i was in denial. too bad it turned out to be true. =( i loved michael jackson when i was a kid. 
i randomly checked kogi's website during lunchtime earlier and then noticed that they were scheduled to be in torrance! so i picked rianne up from work and we headed over to see how long the line was. it turned out that both trucks were there! the lines were not very long, but we still waited like 30 minutes total to get our food. the truck we were at was super slow compared to the other one. after eating, i noticed that chef roy was taking a break on the grass next to my car. i didn't want to interrupt him while he was on the phone, though, so i took a sneaky picture instead. yikes!
this afternoon we had an early birthday luncheon for venus' 30th birthday at the hilton next to universal studios. only the girls in the family were invited. haha! nicole and ninang techie came even though they're leaving for their trip to alaska later today. after stuffing ourselves at the buffet, we stopped by cinderella's house in sylmar, and then betty's house in encino. i don't know why, but i was so sleepy the rest of the day. after coming back to the south bay, i went to my parents' house for another birthday dinner for my dad. and then i fell asleep as soon as i got home. i noticed this picture looks weird because you can't see what my dad is looking at. i took this while we were singing the birthday song to him, so he is looking down at his cake. for every birthday in my family, the celebrant gets sung to, but we just discovered that no one actually enjoys it. we all agreed that it is awkward and lame. haha.
a few hours before the dodger game started, christine invited me to go with her. her boss gave her and her coworker, jaime, two VIP tickets each, so we got to watch the game in a suite. sweet! the stadium level we were on was super nice! even though we weren't really paying attention to the actual game, i still thought it was lots of fun. but the most fun we had was AFTER the game. there were about ten other strangers sharing the suite with us, but after they left we had the suite to ourselves. we took lots of silly pictures. fun stuff. thanks for taking me, chris! 
priscilla suggested that i take a picture of the dunny on my dashboard. i see him everyday and he comes with me wherever i go. he was one of the very first dunnys that anthony bought. i just counted 64 more dunnys that are on display in our house. but anyway, i didn't do anything particularly interesting today. i went to virgil's house, cerritos, and my parents' house. i also stayed up late to work, while my other companion, anthony, slept on the couch behind me. i took a picture of him sleeping to use as my real picture, but he wouldn't let me use it. oh well.
after my crazy day of work yesterday, my boss texted me this morning to tell me that i could take the day off. i then slept the day away! haha. for dinner, i told anthony that i felt like eating crunchy chicken. he jokingly suggested kyochon, which we've tried but didn't really like.. and then i remembered how a lot of the yelp reviews for that place said that furaibo was better. so that's where we ended up going! the food was actually delicious. we ordered the soft shell crab, beef yakitori for anthony, two orders of the chicken wings, and the bacon with spinach. yummm!
we have a big project due at the end of the week, so i spent most of my day working. i was in total workaholic mode, right up until one of my programs stopped working. that made me all stressed out, and forced me to drive to my mom's house to look for a file that i needed to reinstall the program. i was worried that i was wasting time, but going there ended up being exactly what i needed 'cause i realized it's not worth it to stress out over these things. it's like i forget that it's okay to relax once in a while. so instead, i played with serena for a whole hour straight! that was definitely the longest i've ever seen her awake. she was super alert and playful, too. so cute! oh serena.. she's such a stress-reliever.
tonight was fun. we headed on down to rowland heights to have dinner at banana bay. the restaurant was poppin! they had a live band on stage, and anton was their singer. anthony fell in love with anton's voice. haha! he was super nice, too. after dinner, we walked across the plaza to a place called cue, which is basically just a shop full of sticker photo booths! we took pictures in two different booths, and spent so much time decorating the pictures, but since all the instructions were in a different language, we had no idea what we were doing! haha. oh well. it was still fun. i had to pick something up in cerritos earlier, so to make the most of my trip, i asked christine if she wanted to have dinner with me at guppy's. overall, i had a nice evening.. but i walked out of there with a new enemy! for some reason, one of the waitresses who was working that night hated me!!! we first noticed she was rude when we were waiting for a table. then later during our meal, i waved her down and tried to tell her that we were ready for our dessert. i didn't think i was being mean at all, but she responded with an attitude telling me that since i said i wanted it "later" (meaning after we were done with our regular food), it was all my fault that it hadn't arrived yet. i KNEW the servers were waiting for us to tell them we were ready for it (hence my waving her down), but i was getting all upset that she was being so condescending about it. so while she was summarizing the "huge mistake" i made, i cut her off and said, "i know.. that's why i'm telling you." she quickly said, "okay," and then walked away, leaving me feeling all guilty! christine kept telling me that it wasn't a big deal, but i am not someone who typically gets into silly arguments like that. i was seriously prepared to apologize to the girl. but when i went up to pay, she came to the register and completely ignored me! i smiled at her and everything! eww what the heck!? haha. she ended up calling someone else to help me. how rude.
so here's part 2 of my sophistated womanness. should i feel embarassed that i walk around with a monkey on my purse? or on my ipod case? or wallet? or jacket? haha. this guy is all over the place! my coworker even calls me "monkey girl." that's something to be proud of, right?
