kiss mommy

reese has a cool trick that we call "kiss mommy." basically, he just kisses me on command. it's so cute and so sweet. my mom tried to capture it on camera, but then he stopped. he always just stops what he's doing and stares when a camera is pointed at him.

rianne's triathlon

we woke up early this morning to head out to hermosa beach for rianne's first triathlon! we were all really proud of her even though she came in last place. haha jk!

rice cereal

at reese's 4 month check up, the doctor told us that we should start him on solids since he's such a hyper boy. she said that pretty soon, milk alone isn't gonna cut it for him. today we finally decided to try feeding him rice cereal. all i can say is... DISASTER! haha. well it was our mistake to wait 'til he was hungry. i thought that the hungrier he was, the more excited he would be, but instead he was just super frustrated. he loves to suck on anything he gets his hands on, so after a while he was so upset that we kept pulling the spoon out of his mouth 'cause he wanted to keep it in like a lollipop. it turned into a cryfest and we ended up just giving him a bottle. oh well! next time!

loungin

i thought reese looked so funny just lounging in his playpen earlier. it's quite fitting, though. we had a laid back friday night at home. i was happy to just sit around and relax after my first week back at work. as serena would say, "it's kinda nice."

aww i miss my sweet baby. it's kind of weird now that i only get to spend mornings and nights with reesey. i guess it just makes me appreciate our time together even more. but even when he's sound asleep i just want to hug him. he's probably like, "back off, crazy lady!"

frappe

now that i only nurse one time a day, i am finally allowing myself to have caffeine. it's been over a year since i've had a mocha frappe! as delicious as it was, i couldn't help but feel guilty for enjoying it. i felt like the only reason i was drinking it is because i am a breastfeeding failure. my conscience is evil, huh? haha. anyway, it was good!

back to work

today was my first day back at the office. i've been dreading this day for a while, but surprisingly it wasn't bad at all. after i had my workstation all set up again, it kind of felt like i never left. although i was thinking about reese all day, my 8 hour shift went by really fast. i am so thankful that my job was so flexible with my maternity leave. i never felt rushed to come back, but i just knew it was time. i feel really blessed that i was able to have those 5 months of working from home, and definitely cherish the special bonding time i had with reese.
